New toolset drives greater
efficiencies for advertising, software and electronic journal
updates
NCR Corporation (NYSE: NCR)
today introduced its latest set of ATM management tools, known
as Gasper Exchange. Developed by NCR’s Gasper unit, Gasper
Exchange includes three distinct efficiency tools: EJ Exchange,
Software Exchange and Ad Exchange. American National Bank
of Texas, one of the oldest independently-owned banking organizations
in Texas, has recently successfully completed a pilot of Gasper
Exchange in the United States.
Gasper EJ Exchange provides
remote electronic journal (EJ) retrieval for mixed-vendor
ATM networks. Currently, reviewing self service terminal transaction
journals for discrepancy resolution is often cumbersome and
error-prone. Even electronic journals can pose difficulties
with the requirement for physical transport and storage of
diskettes, media errors, and differing journal formats requiring
separate and incompatible viewing utilities. Gasper EJ Exchange
allows financial institutions (FI’s) to view EJ’s in multiple
formats in a central location, enabling quick and easy issue
resolution. Retrieval can be automatically scheduled or occur
on-demand, which gives FI the maximum flexibility to quickly
locate and resolve issues.
Gasper Software Exchange offers
the ability to remotely apply software patches and updates
to the ATM network. Files, such as diagnostic logs, that can
aid in fault diagnosis and resolution can also be remotely
retrieved from the ATM. With Gasper Software Exchange, FI’s
carry out these functions without incurring the cost of sending
someone out to the ATM. Unlike other systems, the easy-to-administer
Gasper Software Exchange is specifically designed for the
unique self-service environment.
Gasper Ad Exchange provides
a flexible and cost-effective way to distribute advertising
campaigns throughout an ATM network. Campaigns can be easily
built using NCR’s APTRA™ Promote software toolset, and then
remotely delivered using Gasper Ad Exchange. Campaigns can
be updated frequently, giving FI’s more flexibility to ensure
maximum advertising impact.
Gail Mason, vice president
and director of technology for American National Bank, said,
“EJ Exchange and Software Exchange, in particular, help address
two every day functions that can be time-consuming for staff
and readily lend themselves to efficiency improvement. We
are implementing a new branding campaign on our ATMs with
APTRA Promote, and Gasper Ad Exchange means we can get these
campaigns to the ATM quicker and without incurring the cost
of a site visit.”
Andy Orent, vice president
of NCR’s Financial Solutions Division, Americas region, said,
“NCR’s Gasper is the recognized leader in ATM management software
and Gasper Exchange is yet another example of the efficiencies
and innovations that NCR works hard to bring to our customers.”
